Hello LS Army!
I have decided (as of 12/01/03) that I simply don't have the heart to continue to try to make LlamaStar work as a music venture. Playing solo just doesn't hold much appeal. The DIY aesthetic we adhere to in this office just doesn't make for good income generation.
Music is a hard business. Bands play for free, just to get exposure. Club owners a tough and rude. I hate cigarette smoke and late nights.
However, the LlamaStar services are still availabable. If you need a song written, or production help, I'm happy to do it.
Thanks for caring! Our download page is still up and running, so listen with joy! I hope to get more up soon, but there's no guarantees in life!

About LlamaStar Records
LlamaStar Records is a privately held record company based in the Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, (as of April 2002) with a regional office in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. We have grown significantly since our founding in 1998 and have continued plans for expansion.
At LlamaStar, we oppose the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) and the RIAA. We believe that protecting the rights of artists are important, but that those rights should go primarily to the artists themselves, not to multinational corporations. We believe that best way for music to grow and improve is to make it available. If you want to use any of our recordings as the basis for a new work, notify us, and we will be happy to help in any way possible.
We are always looking for new artists, primarily eclectic, noise, lo-fi and avant, but will listen to all comers. Our focus is artist of the Upper Midwest, commenting on Midwestern themes, but don't let georgraphy stop any demo submissions. We offer webspace, internet distribution, recording and duplication facilities with a fair distribution of sales profits. Contact us to discuss details.
All of our artists are available for interviews, special bookings, etc. We are also happy to link exchange, and have logos we would prefer you to use as the link banner. Contact us for details.

At LlamaStar, we have tried to ensure that all pages work properly in a wide variety of browsers and resolutions, including Mozila Firebird, MSIE 5/6, Mozilla 1.2, Opera 6.0, Lynx, etc. If a page or feature doesn't work, email our webmaster and we'll try to resolve it. Email that same address if you have discovered a broken link, or have a feature suggestion. We will reply within 2 days. For best results, make sure to include the exact problem, your browser version, and steps you have used to resolve the issue already.
If you are having problems with MP3 downloads:
- Be Patient. They are big files. Use a download helper like GetRight® (which appears to be spyware free) that can resume broken connections.
- If you expect streaming audio, make sure your browser has that capability enabled. RealPlayer® may have problems if the cache isn't set big enough.
- If you try to save the MP3 and only get 15 seconds worth, email us. We are trying to understand the source of this problem.
